Isang gabing hindi dapat alalahanin para sa P-pop powerhouse SB19 nang sila ay lumabas bilang isa sa mga big winner sa 9th Wish Music Awards na ginanap sa Araneta Coliseum noong Linggo, Enero 14.
Sa panahon ng star-studded show, ang P-pop group ay nakakuha ng kabuuang 3 group awards, kabilang ang Group of the Year Award. Samantala, ang mga miyembro ng SB19 na sina Josh Cullen Santos at Ken — na tinatawag na Felip bilang soloist — ay nakatanggap ng mga indibidwal na parangal para sa kanilang mga tagumpay bilang solo artist.
Sinabi ni Josh sa kanyang talumpati sa pagtanggap na ang pagkapanalo ng grupo ay isang patunay ng kanilang mahirap na paglalakbay pagkatapos dumaan sa isang “napakalaki” na taon. “Hindi namin ine-expect ito. Sobra (We didn’t expect this. Talagang).”
“Honestly, we were betrayed by a lot of people and nand’un na rin kami sa verge kung magpapatuloy pa ba kami. Pero gusto naming magpasalamat sa lahat ng nagtiwala (we were on the verge of being unsure if we’re going to continue. But we want to thank those who believed in us),” he continued.
Bukod sa Group of the Year Award, naiuwi din ng SB19 ang Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year para sa kanilang international dance hit na “Gento,” at, Wishclusive R&B Performance of the Year para sa “I Want You.”
Nanalo si Josh ng dalawang parangal bilang solo artist: ang Breakthrough Artist of the Year, at Wishers’ Choice awards. Si Ken naman ay nakakuha ng Wishclusive Hip-Hop Performance of the Year award, bilang solo artist din.
